More Details on Our Upcoming Mission Trip!!

We have started a project to sponsor and build the new HCRM orphanage. They have 9 acres of oceanside land that is waiting to be used, but time is ticking. The land does not have any boundary walls, and therefore, has been left vulnerable to, what we would call, squatters. In Haiti there is no law as far as owning, or not owning, property. The only thing that applies is if the owner has a boundary wall around his land. So this is where we start: a boundary wall around the building site for the new HCRM Village. We then hope to either move on to the orphanage, or at least help fund it. The estimated cost of the orphanage is around $200,000. Pastor Fritz's dream is to eventually have a complete HCRM village which will include a church, school, orphanage, clinic, housing for adoptive families and volunteers etc. You can find the layout for the village on their website: ourchildreninhaiti.com (link found on your right). The estimated cost for this entire project would be around $750,000, but we are taking this one step at a time in order of priorities. We must start with the wall so that we may move on to the orphanage without being disturbed or 'ran out'. Once that is complete, we will have a safer passage as we move on with the orphanage. The time frames we have looked at so far are: Thanksgiving break, Winter break and Spring break. If you know of enough people interested and available in Sept. (or whenever you want to go) I would be happy to help you get that accomplished. The first section we'll be working on is 4' by 16". The crew will be working with a Haitian crew to complete the task. Materials used for the wall will be native rock and cement. Trowels, gloves, hammers and levels are the tools that we will need to bring. Trenches have already been dug and jungle cleared, so now they are waiting on us to get a crew together. Each crew will consist of twelve members who will stay at HCRM while we are there. Our schedule should look something like this: Arrive Sat., worship Sunday, work Mon.-Tues., rest Wed., work Thurs.-Fri., leave Sat. Our goal in this is to get as many people involved so that we can come together under one name, Christ, for one cause, serving these orphans! Please pass this on to any friends/family who may be interested. You can contact me with any questions or ideas as well. I would love to hear from you and/or help you form a crew of your own to head to Port-au-Prince.

It would be amazing if you could get involved either with fundraising or in working! Thank you for your interest and may God bless you wherever His calling takes you! :)

Welcome!

In His Hands blog has been started to help bring those with a passion to help Haiti together. We have started a project to help sponsor the HCRM orphanage in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. This project was started to help raise the $200,000 needed to build the new HCRM orphanage. They have the land, but not the funds, so we're here to get involved. There are three ways you can help: 1) PRAY!! You can check out our Prayer List and add this project and the HCRM kiddos to your daily prayer; 2) DONATE!!! The only way to raise the $200,000 is to DONATE!! So spread the word and get involved. You can start a family fast by giving up the things you know you could live without, and sending the money you save to HCRM... You could hold a garage sale in honor of the orphanage and have all proceeds fed into this project... or, you could find a unique way that your family could come together to raise the money!! Post your ideas!; 3) VOLUNTEER!!! We are looking for crew members to get involved in a mission trip to Port-au-Prince!! We currently have the first wall sponsored, but now, we need a CREW!! With Crew #1 almost complete, we are looking for 2-3 more people to get involved and come aboard. If you would like to help, but don't have the funds, we have scholarships lined up to help you get there. Are you a college student?? No worries! We're forming crews of hard working, Christian college students to go to Haiti during Winter and Spring break! Could your church get involved? If you want to present this project to your church, whether it be for fundraising or for going, we can't wait to here from you!! We already have four churches actively involved in the project, and want to add yours to the list!! Lets come together to get this done for this orphanage!
